Kitchen renovation

Our customer had recently moved into the property and wanted a modern finish with integrated appliances so their small children couldn't 'twiddle' with knobs! They also wanted somewhere that the kids could eat breakfast and do homework whilst their dinner was being prepared. There was no heating in the kitchen and the old range cooker was gas powered. The kitchen electrics were also sub standard as there was no specific circuit for cooking appliances.

We designed the cooking area to one side so the food preparation was contained and installed a new circuit to take the strain of the built in combi microwave and oven housing. An induction hob was also installed as they are much safer when young children are around (as well as being super quick to heat and economical).

The breakfast bar is big enough for both children and the new radiator keeps the kitchen cosier than before!

The kitchen is 'Milbourne' in Alabaster colour from Second Nature. These kitchens are very hard wearing, cope well with spills and the general knocks and bangs that come from a busy home. The carcasses are also alabaster so the colour continues in the cupboards for a seamless finish. The worktop is a supremely hard wearing laminate from from Duropal, a top German brand. It is slightly textured, super tough and dead easy to clean, especially when it gets covered in pen or paint!!

We also fitted new led down-lighting in the ceiling and in the sink flyover to keep everything bright and it worked well with the bumpy gloss tiles that reflected light beautifully. The only thing that was left was to swap the old tired lino with a fresh, modern oak laminate with excellent water and scratch resistant properties and fit the new oak doors to match.
